Position Summary

Prepares items/materials for shipment and verifies/keeps records on outgoing shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Compares identifying information of outgoing shipments to verify information against packing slips, bills of lading or other records.
• Prepares products or materials for shipment.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Prepares bills of lading, pack slips and maintains documentation of goods shipped.
• Will operate fork truck, and/or hand-truck as needed.
• Will help with other Warehousing tasks as needed.
• Coordinates pick-ups and deliveries with freight companies.
• Evaluate shipping needs and expedite product as needed, example: pick tickets.
• Periodically, drives truck with capacity under three (3) tons to transport materials to and from company facilities, specified destinations, such as plants, offices, or industrial yards.

Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience

• Experience in dealing with inventory management functions of ERP systems. (IQMS experience desired) as well as Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to learn and display an understanding of quality, safety, and process knowledge.
• Capable of working with team members as needed.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must be self-motivated.

Education and Job Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred.
• Prior experience in a warehouse environment.
• Fork truck experience required.
• Minimum of one-year experience in a shipping capacity required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Standing for long periods of time.
• Moderate continuous lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
• Physical hazards from moving equipment.
